1845-05-04 Will of Isaac Applegate 5F5D

The last Will and Testament of Isaac Applegate of Pleasant township, Knox County, and State of Ohio.

I Isaac Applegate, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, & being of sound mind, & memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form following

First, I give and bequeath to my son David K. Applegate all that farm on which I now reside, containing one hundred and thirty acres be the same more or less, situate in the second section of the sixth township, and twelfth range of the United States Military district.

I give to my son George Applegate the sum of one dollar, in addition to what I have already given him.

I give to my Daughter Caroline Applegate the sum of one dollar, in addition to what I have already given her.

I give to my son Albert Applegate the sum of one dollar, in addition to what I have already given him,

and as to all the rest, residue and remainder of my personal estate, goods, and chattels, of what kind and nature [illegible], I give & bequeath to my aforesaid son David K. Applegate. The above bequeath being made to the aforesaid David only upon the following condition to wit: that he shall pay to my daughter Emeline Applegate within five years after my decease the sum of one hundred (100) dollars, a good bed and bedding of common quality, & one cow. And also to my daughter Elizabeth Applegate within five years after my decease the sum of two hundred (200) dollars, & a good bed and bedding of common quality, & one cow, & further that the said David shall pay all lawful debts against my estate & funeral expenses.

And I do hereby appoint the said David K. Applegate as sole executer of this my last will and testament and hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of May the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five
