In the name of God, Amen. I Edwin Forest Applegate of the town of Freehold, in the County of Monmouth and State of New Jersey, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament, that is to say:

First: It is my will and I do hereby order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.

Second: I give, bequeath and devise all my property, both real and personal, wheresoever situate, and whatever the same may be which I now have, or may hereafter acquire, to my beloved wife Mary Lucinda Applegate, to her and her heirs forever.

Third: For the better care and education of my following children, to wit: Lois Angline Applegate, Mary Lucinda Applegate, Matilda Union Applegate, Easton Whiting Maxcy Applegate, Robert T. Middleditch Applegate, Annie Applegate, Andrew Gassner Applegate and Julia Applegate, I appoint my said wife, Mary Lucinda Applegate, guardian of them, and every of them, and do give and dispose of the tuition and custody of them, and every of them, unto her, for such time as they or any of them continue unmarried, and under the age of one and twenty years.

Fourth: I hereby nominate and appoint my said wife, Mary Lucinda Applegate, the executrix of this my last will and testament.

Fifth: I do hereby authorize and empower my said executrix to carry on the business of printing, to lease the whole or any part of said property herein bequeathed and devised to her to sell the whole or any part thereof either at public or private sale, or to dispose of the same in any manner and at such times and upon such terms as to her shall seem meet.
I hereby revoke and annul any other will, bearing a prior date to this.
