In the name of God, Amen. I Mary A. Applegate of the township of Freehold County of Monmouth and State of New Jersey being of sound mind and memory and understanding and mindful of the uncertainty of life do make and publish and declare the following to be my last will and testament namely:
First it is my will and I do order all my just debts and personal expenses to be duly paid as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.
Second I give and bequeath to my son Daniel D. Applegate the sum of one dollar to my son Archibald I give and bequeath the sum of one dollar to my son John G. Applegate I give and bequeath the sum of one dollar I give and bequeath the sum of one dollar to my daughter Ellen V. Everingham I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Y. Smith the sum of one dollar I give an bequeath the sum of one dollar to my daughter Jane B. Richards I give and bequeath the sum of one dollar and I also give and bequeath to my said daughter Jane B. Richards my bed and bedding.
and lastly I give and bequeath to my son Jacob M. Applegate all the residue of all my personal estate of all and whatever description.
I also give and devise to my son Jacob M. Appelgate all my real estate where and soever situate to be his during his lifetime; and if he shall marry and have issue the said lands hereditaments tenements and real estate shall descend to his children and be theirs forever and in case my son Jacob M. Applegate shall not marry then at his death my said real estate lands tenements hereditaments shall descend and go to his brothers and sisters above named and their heirs share and share alike.
and I hereby appoint my son Jacob M. Applegate executor of this my last will and testament with power to do all lawful things to carry out this my last will and testament
