1862-07-10 Will of Daniel Duncan Applegate 5G1BlF

In the name of God Amen! I Daniel D. Applegate of the borough of Hightstown County of Mercer and State of New Jersey being of sound mind memory and understanding for which blessing I thank God do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say:

First It is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto each of the children of my daughter Margaret Elizabeth Miller now deceased the sum of five dollars ($5)

Item I give and bequeath unto each of the children of my son Richard Applegate now deceased the sum of five dollars ($5)

Item I give and bequeath unto my son John A. Applegate the sum of sixteen hundred dollars ($1600)

Item I do hereby give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Maria Applegate the balance and residue of all my personal estate after the payment of the above mentioned bequests and I also give and bequeath to my said wife Maria Applegate all my lands tenements hereditaments and real estate whatever and whereever to her own use forever.

Lastly I hereby appoint my beloved wife Maria Applegate Executor of this my last will and testament
