In the name of God amen I Readotia Applegate of Elizabeth Township Allegheny County, PA. do make this my last will and testament.
In the first place I commit my Soul to God and my body to the ground there to be intered in a decent and Christian like manner. As to my worldly goods that God in his providence has blessed me with I dispose of as follows. I direct my executor to collect all my outstanding accounts and after paying my funeral expenses and all my lawful debts I dispose of my Estate as Follows.
I give and bequeath unto my two sons Hervey and Stephen all rents that will be due me at my decease.
I give and bequeath unto my son Harison fifty Dollars.
I desire that my household and kitchen furniture be equally divided between my two sons Hervey and Stephen, and my daughter Eliza.
It is my will that the two thirds of my estate that is now left to be equally divided between my two daughters Delilah Applegate and Rebekah Wall, and the balance one third be equally divided between my son Hervey and my daughter Rebeckah Wall, and Margret Ann Crawford my granddaughter.
I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend John Applegate my executor of this my last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I do set my hand and seal 6th day of May in the year of our Lord 1857.

Be it known that on the 25th day of September A.D. 1859 before me Samual A. Center, Dept. Registrar of and in aforesaid county personally came Ebenezer Caldwell and George A. Linn the subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing testament of writing who being duly sworn deponents say that they saw Readotia Applegate the testator sign said testament of writing by making her mark of her name previously unwritten and hear her publish and declare said instrument of writing as and for her last will and testament. That at the time of so doing, she was of sound mind, disposing memory to the best of their knowledge and belief. And that at her request and in her presence they subscribed their names as witnesses thereto.
