1869-01-13 Will of Jane E Applegate 5E1B9C New Jersey Archives 1347L Middlesex County Surrogate's Office Last will & Testament of Jane E. Applegate late of the County of Middlesex deceased Proved & sworn to in Middlesex County Surrogate's Office the 16 day of July A.D. 1869 by John B. Appelget the sole executor therein named and the estate & effects sworn by him not to exceed in value the sum of $759 & probate granted by me, J.S. Holcomb Surrogate Recorded in Book H of Wills pages 77 etc the 16 day of July A., D. 1869 In the name of God, Amen, I Jane E. Applegate of township of Monroe County of Middlesex and State of New Jersey being of sound mind and memory and understanding for which blessing I thank God Do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say First It is my will and I do order all my just debts and funeral expenses to be paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto my niece Sarah H. Applegate the sum of four hundred dollars to be paid to her after my decease. Also one bed & bedding, and curtains one canopy & one Ingrain carpet one breakfast table & Stance one set of china and one set of white ware one sewing machine fountun 6 cane bottom chairs and 1/2 dozen silver tea spoons one butter dish one gold Widture and chairs and all my bedding and the residue of all my personal property in the house belonging to me except my clothing I which then divided equal between Sarah F. Applegate and Catherine E. Shelden. Item It is my will after my mothers death that my equal share of my fathers estate be divided in the manner following viz I give to John E. Applegate the sum of fifty dollars to Margaret E. Applegate daughter of Richard Applegate the sum of fifty dollars to Catherine E. now Siver Applegate one hundred dollars to Thomas J. Applegate one Hundred dollars to Frank A. Applegate four hundred dollars the heirs of James H. Applegate decd to be kept by my executors until they arrive at the age of twenty one the interest to be added to the principal and twenty five dollars to the Mathews Church at the Union Valle the residue of my estate to be equally divided between the said names in my will. Finally I due hereby appoint my trusty friend John B. Applegate executor of this my last will and testament and Guardian to the Heirs of James H. Applegate decd during their minority. In testimony I have set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of January 1869 Jane E. Applegate
