Last Will and testament of Garret Applegate decd

In the name of God Amen I Garret Applegate of the township of Monroe in the County of Middlesex and State of New Jersey being of low state of health but of sound mind and memory and understanding for which blessing I thank God, do make and order this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say

First I order my body to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executor herein after named

Second It is my will that all my just debts and funeral charges be first paid out of my estate after my decease

Third I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Mary Applegate the sum of two Hundred dollars of real or personal property if there be so much of my estate left if not to have what is left

Fourth If there is any property left after paying the sum of two Hundred Dollars and other expenses it is to be divided equal amongst my Lawful heirs Viz Delilah Garret David Robert William Rhodeann Anna Eliza and Lydia or if any of them is dead then share to be given to their heirs

Fifth Then I do hereby constitute George McDowell executor of this my last will and testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of August Eighteen Hundred and sixty one
