I John Applegate of the Township of Monroe in the County of Middlesex and State of New Jersey of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is say:

It is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.

I do order my executor herein after named to sell all my moveable property and turn the same into money. I also order and direct him to sell and dispose of all my lands tennents and real estate and make legal and sufficient conveniences in the law to the purchasers thereof.

I give and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth two hundred dollars in money forever to be paid to her at the expiration of six months from my decease.

The remainder and residue of my money arising from the sale of my above named property two thirds of which I give and bequeath unto my brothers and sisters who are now living in equal portions share and share alike or their heirs.

The other one third part thereof I order my executors herein named to put it out on bond and mortgage and pay the interest arising thereof annually unto my wife Elizabeth to the day of her decease and after her decease to pay the principal this is the third aforesaid unto her children in equal parts.

I hereby appoint Peter W. Applegate executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I the said John Applegate have hereto set my hand and seal this thirty first day of January A.D. Eighteen hundred and sixty one.

Signed sealed and declared by the said John Applegate to be his last will and testament in the presence of use and in the presence of each other
