In the name of God. Amen. I Ellen Applegate of the Borough of Hightstown, county of Mercer and State of New Jersey, being of sound mind, memory and understanding for which blessing I thank God, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say:

First It is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my two sons Joseph V. Applegate and Gilbert Applegate all my household goods, furniture and personal property to be divided equally between them.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my grand daughters all my wearing apparel to be divided equally between them.

Item: I give and devise unto my sons Joseph V. Applegate, Gilbert Applegate and Enos Applegate all my lands, tenaments, heredetaments and real estate whatsoever and wheresoever to be held by them equally share and share alike. Provided nevertheless that whereas I have not heard from my son Enos Applegate in a number of years and I do not know whether he be living or dead. Now if my son Enos Applegate do not return to the State of New Jersey within ten years from the date hereof It is my will and I do give and devise all my lands, tenaments and heredetaments aforesaid to my two sons Jospeh V. Applegate and Gilbert Applegate

Item: It is my wish and desire that all my personal property including wearing apparel be divided as aforesaid without the same being sold:

Lastly I do hereby appoint my two sons Joseph V. Applegate and Gilbert Applegate executors of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty seventh day of April eighteen hundred and sixty-seven
