In the name of God Amen. I John J. Applegate of the Township of Monroe in the County of Middlesex and State of New Jersey being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament as follows:

First It is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon as may be reasonable after my decease

Second I do give to my son Asa Applegate five hundred dollars, any pair of horses that I have he to have his choice of them, set of double harness and also his choice of either of my two wagons

Third I do give to my daughter Margaret Ann Reid wife of John Reid five hundred dollars

Fourth I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Ann Mary Applegate all the real estate and remainder of my personal property of which I shall die seized where ever the same may be situated to her heirs and assigns forever

And I do hereby renounce all former wills by me made And I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife Ann Mary Applegate and my son Asa Applegate executors of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this Third day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty three.
