I, Joseph M. Applegate, of the town of East Brunswick, in the County of Middlesex, and state of New Jersey, declare this to be my last will and testament in form following:

I give and bequeath to my daughter Hester Horton ten dollars.

To my grandson Joseph Crabell I give and bequeath fifty dollars

To my grandson Benjamin Crabell I give and bequeath fifty dollars.

I give and devise to my son, Charles L. Applegate, his heirs and assigns, all that piece or parcel of land, with the buildings thereon erected, situate in said township of East Brunswick, now occupied by me, described as follows:

Property description
Beginning at a stake standing at Alpheus Gilliland's bars, on the road west of my house, running thence easterly one chain, or thereabouts, down the road to a white oak tree and one chain beyond on the old Burlington stage road; thence running northerly to the corner of a lot of land belonging to Furman Gilliland; thence along said Gilliland's land, to the place of beginning; containing thirty seven (37) acres, more or less.

I give and devise to my son Adam M. Applegate, the remainder of my farm, in fee, which lies east of above mentioned line, containing about thirty seven (37) acres more or less.

I give and devise to my son John S. Applegate, in fee, all of the real estate which he now occupies, belonging to me; described as follows:

Property description
Beginning at a point on the old stage road, and running thence along said road, about one chain; thence running southerly, twenty one chains; thence westerly to the western line of my land; thence northerly to the place of beginning; containing about forty (40) acres, more or less.

And I also give and devise to said son, John S. Applegate, all my land on the west side of the cedar swamp ditch; included in the above mentioned forty acres to his heirs and assigns forever.

I also give and devise to my said son Adam M. Applegate all my land on the east side of said Cedar swamp ditch, containing about twenty (20) acres, more or less, to his heirs and assigns forever.

And I also give and devise to my said son, Adam M. Applegate, my lot of land in the Township of Monroe, opposite the property of John Outcalt, containing four acres, more or less, to his heirs and assigns forever.

I give and bequeath all the residue of my personal property, of what nature and kind soever, to my three sons, Adam M. Applegate, John S. Applegate and Charles L. Applegate, to be equally divide between them, share and share alike, after the payment of my funeral expenses, and just debts.

I hereby appoint my sons, Adam M. Applegate, John S. Applegate and Charles L. Applegate, executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me heretofore at anytime made.

Signed acknowledged and declared by the said Joseph M. Applegate as and for his last will and testament, in the presence of us, both being present at the same time) who at his request, in his presence, and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses
