In the name of God Amen I Gilbert Applegate being of sound mind memory and understanding for which blessing I thank God do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say it is my will and I order all of my just debts and funeral expenses to be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be done after my decease.

Item I order my executors hereafter named to sell all of my real estate at either public or private sale which will be to the best advantage for my estate to be made within two years after my decease and I do hereby empower them to make to the purchaser of the same a good title for the same and all my personal property also to be sold except what my wife wishes to keep. All the Proceeds of my real and personal estate to be invested in Bonds and Mortgages on real estate for the benefit of my wife and daughter Emma Applegate during the natural life of each to be paid them as they need the same and at the decease of my wife and daughter Emma both then what is left of my estate to be equally divided between my Children Margaret Dansen wife of James V. Dansen, Williamia Anderson wife of Ronald Anderson Lousa Ayers wife of Elwood B. Ayers Enos Applegate Elner Wycoff wife of Charles Wycoff Josephine Perrine wife of Walter Perrine or those that is deceased what would have been their father or mothers share to their living children respectfully made this thirteenth day of January eighteen hundred and ninety two.

I hereby appoint my son Enos Applegate and my son in law Walter W. Perrine executors to this my last will and testament.

Codicil
I Gilbert Applegate being of sound mind do make this codicil to my last will and testament ratifying the same except the following that is as executor I change the name of Walter W.Perrine as executor and appoint my son in law James V. Dansen as executor in the place of Walter W. Perrine and it is my will and I do order that my executors shall keep an account of the work that they each do and that each shall be paid out of my estate accordingly to the work done by each ratifying the aforesaid will in full except herein mentioned made this twenty fifth day of May one thousand eight hundred and ninety two.
