I Peter A. Appleget of the Township of Monroe in the County of Middlesex and state of New Jersey being weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament as follows to wit.

First it is my will and I do order all my just debts and necessary expenses paid and satisfied as soon as convenient after my decease.

It is my will that all my moveable property be sold at public sale as soon as conveniently can be after my decease. In case there shall be a deficiency of personal property to pay my just debts and all necessary expenses than it is my will and I do order and empower my Executors herein after named to sell at public auction so much of my real estate as shall be necessary for that purpose, and I do order them or either of them to make and execute good & legal conveyances in the law to the purchases

and it is my will that my family be and remain on the residue of my real estate as heretofore until my youngest child attains the age of twenty one years the proceeds thereof to go for their support maintenance and education, subject to the dower of my wife Eliza,

and after my youngest child attains the age aforesaid, then my will is that my property of every kind and description be divided among my four daughters and my son in the proportions that my son have double the amount of each girl, the girls to be equal.

I do nominate and appoint my wife Eliza and John M. Davision executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said Peter A. Applegate have hereto set my hand and seal this thirty first day of March A.D. 1849.
