In the name of God, Amen. I William L. Applegate of the Township of Manalapan in the County of Monmouth and State of New Jersey being of sound mind memory and understanding and mindful of the uncertainty of life, do make publish and declare the following to be my last will and testament, namely
First: It is my will and I do order all my just debts and funeral expenses to be duly paid as soon as conveniently may be after my death.
Second: I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Phebe A. Applegate all my estate both real and personal.
Lastly: I hereby appoint my beloved wife Phebe A. Applegate executrix of this my last will and testament with full power to do all necessary things to carry out this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I hereby set my hand and seal this 30th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and ninety six.
