KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:- That, I, John Albert Applegate, Widower, a resident of Tollesboro, in Lewis County Kentucky, being of sound mind and disposing memory and wishing to dispose of what estate I may have at my decease in a manner somewhat different from the disposition thereof made by the laws of Kentucky do therefore make, declare and publish this as my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking any other I may have made, to-wit:-

1st. I desire that my body be suitably buried on my family Lot in Mt. Olivet cemetry [sic] in Mason County Kentucky, and that my funeral expenses, and indebtedness and such other indebtedness as I may incur in my last sickness be paid out of my estate by my Executors hereinafter appointed and designated herein. Also Five Dollars to be paid to J.L Teager for finishing inscription on the family monument on the above named Lot.

2nd. It is my will and desire that all the remainder of my estate of every description be and is hereby bequeathed to the parties named below as follows-

To my brother B.F. Applegate, one fifth of estate.

To the heirs of my sister Florence B. Dixon, deceased, formerly Florence B. Applegate, on fifth of estate.

The the heirs of my sister Clarisa A. Simms, deceased, formerly Clarisa A. Applegate one fifth of estate.

To my sister Axie J. Applegate, formerly Axie J. Browning, one fifth of estate.

And to J.J. Stevenson, my step son, son of my deceased wife by a former marriage, one fifth of estate.

4th. I appoint my brother B.F. Applegate and my sister Axie J. Applegate joint Executors without bond of this my will.

In witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of Omer Hamlin and R.M. Harrison, who in my presence and in the presence of each other, and at my request have hereunto signed their names as witnesses to this my Will.

This is the 22nd day of September, 1924.
