In the name of God, Amen, I Jacob Applegate of Monroe Township, Middlesex County and State of New Jersey, Being of Sound Mind, Memory and Understanding, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say:

First, I order and direct my executors hereinafter named to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses as soon as convenient after my decease

Second - I give and bequeath to my wife Rachel Applegate all my household goods of whatsoever kind, and one third of all the balance of my property during her lifetime and I wish her to board and send my grandson, Harry Applegate to school for two years.

Third, I give and bequeath all the balance of my property to my three children - to my daughter Rachel Lewis, wife of Thomas Lewis, to my son, Jacob Applegate, and to my son, David Applegate, share and share alike. Deducting from my son Jacob Applegate's share Five hundred dollars which I have given him during my lifetime and also deducting from his share One thousand dollars for which I am security unless he should pay the debt and also, deducting from my son David Applegate's share Seven hundred dollars which I have given him during my lifetime and also deducting twenty-three hundred dollars for which I stand security unless he should pay the debt before my estate is ready for settlement.

Fourth - I order and direct that my son-in-law Thomas Lewis shall have the use of my farm for two years on the following conditions: the first year, giving my wife one half of all the proceeds of said farm. the second year, one third of all the proceeds and also to put up all the fences and keep the farm in good order at all times.

Fifth - At the end of two years, I order and direct my executors to sell my farm if it can be sold for a fair price and to give good and sufficient deed therefore as fully as I could if I were alive.

Sixth I constitute and appoint my wife Rachel Applegate, my daughter Rachel Lewis and her husband Thomas Lewis executors to this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the thirteenth day of April A.D. Eighteen hundred Ninety three.
