Thelma M. Applegate, 74, of Gosport, died Friday at The Residence at McCormick's Creek.
Born Feb. 10, 1926, in Gosport, she was the daughter of Roscoe and Grace (Sink) Dusenberry.
She was a homemaker and an Avon representative for 25 years. She recently retired from Gosport Nursing Home, where she had served as activities director for 20 years.
She was a member of Gosport United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Gosport and Elks Lodge in Bloomington.
Survivors include one daughter, Patsy Summers of Plainfield; one son, William R. Applegate of Spencer; one sister, Delores Clouse of Gosport; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Applegate, in 1995; three brothers, Ishmel Dusenbery, Leonard Dusenbery and Ernest Dusenbery; and three sisters, Audrey Dunn, Catherine Steele and Evelyn Beatrice Dusenbery.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Gosport with the Rev. Norman Ward officiating. Burial will be at Gosport Cemetery.
