In the name of God-Amen:

I Katie J. Applegate, of the township of Dover, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner following, that is to say.

First: I give and bequeath to my beloved husband W. Wallace Applegate all my real estate which I own in my own name being six and a quarter Acres on the extension of Hooper Avenue (or Metedeconk road), also all the money belonging to me and now on deposit in “Williamsburg Savings Bank,” both the above devises to go to him, his heirs and assigns forever: I however charge my said husband at his expense, out of the money above devised to him, to pay my funeral expenses, and put up a tombstone at my grave.

Item. I also request my said husband to erect a tombstone at my mother’s grave similar to that now erected to my father, the expense for which to be paid out of my share of my mother’s estate, when disposed of. I also devise to my said husband one hundred dollars, from my share of my mother’s estate, for the purpose of keeping the grave of my father and mother in good condition. I further direct my said husband after my decease to divide and distribute all my wearing apparel and ornaments among my four nieces, in his discretion, as nearly equal in value as practicable.
After the sale and disposal of the remaining estate of my mother, I hereby direct that my share thereof be divided and disposed of as follows:

I give and devise therefrom unto my nephew Alexander M. Manolt - son of my brother, John C. Manolt, One hundred dollars in Cash and my gold ring with a white stone.

I give and devise to my niece Ella E Brooks, my feather bed.

I give and devise to my niece Amy H Griffenbergone clock.

I give and devise to my niece Ethel Manolt my watch and charm.

I give and devise to my niece Mary R. Manolt my writing desk.

All the residue and remainder of the proceeds of the sale of my mother’s estate, after taking therefrom the above special devises I direct to be equally devided among my four nieces above named share and share alike.

Lastly – I hereby nominate and appoint my beloved husband, William Wallace Applegate sole executor of this my last will and testament.

In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this fifth day of May A.D. 1902 at 11:10 o’clock a.m.
