VOUGHT—APPELGATE
Miss Fannie Ellsworth Appelgate, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Appelgate of 678 Gates avenue was married at her parents’ home Wednesday evening to Theodore Howard Vought. During the afternoon the parlors had been transformed into a flower garden, the color scheme being pond and white. Palms were everywhere. The mantels were banked high with pink roses and carnations and smilax. The Rev. Dr. Woelfkin of Greene Avenue Baptist Church officiated. The bride was given away by her father and was attended by her two sisters. Miss Florence S. Appelgate was bridesmaid and Miss Lidie C. Appelgate acted as maid of honor. Both wore white point d’esprit gowns, trimmed with pink panne velvet, and carried bridesmaid’s fosse. The bride’s gown was a handsome creation of silk mall trimmed with Chantilly lace., and she wore a veil of tulle, which was fastened with orange blossoms. She carried shower bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. Little Evelyn E. Appelgate, the 5 year old nice of the bide, in a white organdy dress over pink silk acted as a flower girl. Alfred Gumaer of Jersey City was best man. the bridegroom’s gift was a handsome brooch of diamonds and pearls. A reception followed the wedding. The start of the wedding journey was marked by the usual abundance of old shoes and rice. Mr. and Mrs. Vought have gone on a Southern trip. While away they will visit Washington, Old Point Comfort and other popular Southern resorts, and on their return will make their home at 98 Macon street.
