Clarence Applegate
Peoga area resident Clarence T. "Sonny" Applegate died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at his home. He was 67.
Mr. Applegate was born April 25, 1932, in Trafalgar to Joseph Theodore and Goldie Wycoff Applegate.
He and June Marie Pope were married February 2, 1952, in Jeffersonville. She survives.
Mr. Applegate had worked as a heavy equipment operator for 40 years, retiring in 1994. He had helped Howard Prince build Cordry and Sweetwater lakes in northern Brown County in the early 1950s.
He had been a member of Operating Engineers Union Local 103 and Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Peoga.
Mr. Applegate had enjoyed fishing.
Other survivors include three daughters, Kay Wolfla of Columbus, Linda M. Neese of Franklin; and H. Marie McPeek of Trafalgar; a grandson; and three granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Reverend James A. Starr conducted a service Saturday morning, July 24, at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
Burial was in Johnson County's Nineveh Cemetery.
